What is a creditors meeting?

A creditors meeting is an official and regulated meeting of creditors. Creditors meetings are held during voluntary administrations, deeds of company arrangement and liquidations. Creditors may use these meetings to do some or all of these things:

  • Decide the fate of the insolvent company (in a voluntary administration)
  • Confirm the appointment of an insolvency professional (a voluntary administrator, deed administrator or liquidator)
  • Monitor the insolvency practitioner’s performance
  • Approve fees
  • Replace the appointee
